How did you get your start?
It actually started in childhood when I was surrounded by people who were talented and generous as well as meticulous and creative. When something is made specifically for you, there’s a connection created between people which includes yet transcends the object. Whenever I make something now, it’s always with the sense that it’s for a certain person and I love hearing the stories of why people make a particular selection.
Who is your product perfect for?
There’s something for everyone, male and female, and all ages. My products are for people who value handmade, eco-friendly, practical yet beautiful, unique items.
What is the story behind your business name?
When I opened my online shop, I needed to come up with a name quickly and used my initials and hugs & kisses. It’s difficult to say but easy to recognize. LOL
What are your favorite materials to work with?
Embroidery floss and linen, wood hoops, pure wool felt, wool yarn and paper
What inspires you?
Nature inspires me. I use natural materials because they’re enduring and beautiful. And color, just as in nature, is also a significant element in all of my pieces.
Are you working on anything new for the Holiday Market?
I’m finishing half a dozen wool throws knit in a fantastic ricrac stitch. I also have embroidered snowflake ornaments and paper quilled necklaces which are perfect for celebrating the holiday season.
